چکیده

A patient who presented with severe angina was found to have an ectopic origin of the entire left coronary system, the left main coronary artery arising from the proximal third of the right coronary artery. Atherosclerotic obstructive lesions were present in the right coronary artery, the left anterior descending artery, and the obtuse marginal branch of the left circumflex coronary artery. The three obstructed vessels were bypassed, using autologous saphenous veins. The patient continues to do well 24 months after his operation. We believe that coronary artery bypass should be carried out in symptomatic patients with abnormal coronary anatomy and atherosclerotic disease.

Aortic valve replacement and concomitant coronary artery bypass grafting in a patient with infective endocarditis and anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from the opposite sinus of valsalva.

A 69-yrs-old woman with anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from the opposite sinus of Valsalva (ACAOS) was diagnosed as having infective endocarditis affecting the aortic valve. Transthoracic echocardiography showed severe aortic stenosis and vegetations on the cusp of the aortic valve, which necessitated aortic valve replacement. Before the operation, computed tomography showed a ri...

Huge aortic pseudoaneurysm arising from the aorta-saphenous vein graft anastomosis after coronary artery bypass grafting.

Pseudoaneurysm of the aortic root is a rare condition and potentially fatal if not treated. It may occur in different etiologies. In this case, we aim to show an aortic pseudoaneurysm arising from the aorta-saphenous vein graft anastomosis.

مقایسه عوارض روش دوختن در یک لایه و در چند لایه زخم پا پس از برداشتن ورید صافن بزرگ در بای پس کرونر

Background and purpose: Cardiovascular diseases is the leading cause of death in the world. Over the last decades, open heart surgery reduced the mortality rate of these patients. The long saphenous vein is most commonly-used conduit in coronary artery bypass surgery. Complications associated with its harvest can lead to significant patient morbidity. We aimed to determine the optimal method...

Single versus bilateral internal thoracic artery grafts with concomitant saphenous vein grafts for multivessel coronary artery bypass grafting: effects on mortality and event-free survival.

BACKGROUND The issue of superiority of single internal thoracic artery grafting versus bilateral internal thoracic artery grafting remains unresolved. The aim of this study was to compare the long-term outcome of single and bilateral internal thoracic artery grafting with concomitant saphenous vein grafting for multivessel coronary artery bypass grafting. METHODS Between March 1985 and April ...
